RUMFORD — Black Mountain of Maine will close for the season Sunday with skiers and snow-tubers paying whatever they can afford, marketing director Paige Carter said.
“Last year, we closed on March 24, three weeks earlier than we’re closing this year,” she said. “As a result, we decided to try something different for our closing day and make it a Donation Sun-Day.”
The mountain will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with tubing available from noon to 4 p.m.
“The Donation Sun-Day tickets will be a ski/tube combo ticket, allowing you to pick one winter activity or partake in both,” Carter said. Tickets will be offered for a donation.
There will be a barbecue on the deck, with the SF Jones Band playing in the Last Run Pub from 1 to 4 p.m., she said
