JAY — The following are among the events happening at Spruce Mountain High School.

Class scheduling for next year: Students in the current ninth, 10th and 11th grades participated on April 9 in a round robin to learn about all elective classes for the next school year. On Thursday and Friday, the students are taking class selection sheets to core teachers for recommendations for next year’s classes. On Wednesday, April 16, students will sign up for all of their classes on Powerschool during connections period.

Senior Honors Recognition Banquet: On Tuesday, April 15, the school will recognize its seniors who are either in the top 10 or have a career GPA of 90 percent or higher. Parents and faculty members will attend this ceremony to celebrate this great accomplishment. Students will recognize one teacher who has made the most significant impact on them. Awards will also be presented.

Environmental science class: Mr. Taylor’s class will be going to the East Jay Cemetery to collect headstone data to create survivorship curves.

Spring break vacation will take place April 19 through 27.
