JAY — Spruce Mountain Middle School has announced the following news and activities.
Spring vacation will run April 21 through 25.
After-school enrichment programming is held Monday through Wednesday throughout the year. The next enrichment session starts April 28 and goes until May 14, from 3 to 4:15 p.m. The session will include cooking, outdoor survival skills, cement projects and much more.
Students have to sign up ahead of time. Packets are in the main office. There is a $25 fee for enrichment programming, $10 if the student qualifies for free or reduced lunch. There are scholarships available as well; no student is denied programming based on the inability to pay. March students of the month were Emily Castonguay and Nate Castonguay, sixth grade; Steven Catanese and Hunter Quirrion, seventh grade; and Megan Mercier and Hunter Baker, eighth grade.
Students raised a total of $635.25 for Pennies for Patients, a charity for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Yearbooks are still available for $25, while they last.
Spring sports with games and meets scheduled include baseball, softball and track and field.
