NORWAY — On a recent Saturday night 25 members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Norway met to observe and learn about the holiday of Passover.

Attendees were treated with wonderful food that is traditionally served for this occasion. Emmeline Kaiser with the help of her husband, Zach, organized this event and food included Zach’s family recipe of hoarest, which is placed between two pieces of matzo to symbolize the mortar and bricks used to build temples.

Young Mitchell, 9, found the missing afikomen, which in Jewish tradition is a great honor usually accompanied by a monetary prize.

The next big event at the Unitarian Universalist Church will be the Earth Day celebration concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, featuring the church’s choir director Heather Pierson, Davy Sturtevant, and Nate Towne.

Also on April 18 at 7 p.m., the drumming circle will meet and all are invited. There will be extra drums available, and an assortment of other musical instruments. The UU drumming circle meets the third Friday of every month.
