DEAR SUN SPOTS: At various intersections in Auburn there are cameras. Apparently these cameras survey the traffic flow. Do these cameras take photos and/or video the traffic flow? ANSWER: Sun Spots turned to her go-to girl for everything Auburn, information assistant Tracy Pinkham, who contacted Liz Allen, police planner with the Auburn Police Department, who said that:

“Auburn does not have traffic cameras. They are traffic light sensors (to turn the lights green when cars are waiting, etc.).”

As for Paul’s request to have her send the information, Sun Spots does not respond directly via email. She hopes Paul reads the column!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The person missing the Sunday comics online (April 4) might be interested to know that if he goes to www.gocomics.com, he can find the most recent strip of many comics. Others, like https://muttscomics.com, actually offer a service in which one may get the daily strip in one’s email. It may take a little searching, but it becomes quite natural in the end. — Andrea Keirstead, Farmington

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Korean War veterans who wish to get the Korean medal or the excellent new book “Korean Reborn” must fill out an application to be able to get either one or both of these items. Both are free.

Korean veterans must have been on permanent assignment or on temporary duty of 30 consecutive days or 60 nonconsecutive days and performed their duties within the territorial limits of Korean, in the waters immediately adjacent thereto or in aerial flight over Korea, participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations.

To get the application, please call me or write to me, and I will be glad to send you the application. Sorry, I don’t have it on email.

You then have to send it on to the address on the application to Augusta. Either Peter Ogden, the director of the Bureau of Veterans Services, and/or his representative will attend the memorial ceremony at Veterans Park in Lewiston at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24, to present them.

Please don’t waste time. You need to do it now if you wish to pick it up.

I will be at the Meadowview Senior Complex on Spofford Street in Lewiston from 1 to 4 p.m. every Thursday. I will also have some applications at the Lewiston City Hall Clerks Office, the Veterans Center or Veterans Clinic, and Auburn City Hall.
