‘Inequality for All’ screening planned

AUBURN — Auburn UU will screen “Inequality for All” on Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m. Viewers will join a national re-screening of this film. A short discussion will follow, with faculty from local colleges.

May Day, by tradition a day to honor workers, seems an apt day to screen the film. In it, Robert Reich, economist and former Secretary of Labor, uses humor and facts to explain how the massive consolidation of wealth by a precious few threatens the viability of the American workforce and the foundation of democracy itself.

This “Inconvenient Truth” for the economy shows how the issue of economic inequality affects each and every one of us.

A short discussion will feature Eben Miller, professor of history at SMCC, and Paul Shea, assistant professor of economics at Bates College.

Free screening; donations accepted. Auburn UU is the First Universalist Church of Auburn, 169 Pleasant St., across from Dairy Joy. Parking is available and the building is accessible.
