Has anyone noticed that we, as consumers, are not getting what we used to in our food packages or cans?

We pay more, or the same, but get less product. Soup cans are smaller; my usual cracker boxes are smaller, narrower and with less food; canned vegetables and fruits are also smaller in size. Cereal? Holy cow, cereal has not only decreased in box size (less content), but has higher prices.

For example, I used to get 10 packets of cocoa mix in a box; now only eight, but at the same or higher price.

Why are consumers putting up with that? Do the manufacturers really think that people are not going to notice? I am on a tight budget and noticed the trend some time ago. I am finally speaking up. It is no wonder people have no money.

People are not getting as much product, yet pay more. What gives? I would like to know why, and what we can do about it.

By the way, I refused to get those crackers the other day, as the regular box is so small now, but higher in price. And they are not even as good as they used to be.
