Paintings by Ralph Hagopian and Michelle Berube Giard will be on display in the hospital’s lobby main corridor, near the 60 High Street entrance, through May 1.

Hagopian has painted in oil and watercolor since childhood, tutored first by his father, a graduate of the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, and later in private lessons in lower Manhattan, New York City, and in workshops led by landscape and portrait artist Jerry Rose.

His paintings have been exhibited in shows in Brunswick and Rockland as well as in the public libraries on Swan’s Island and at Southwest Harbor.

Giard was formerly an art teacher in Auburn and Brunswick schools. She is a single mother of three girls and recently resumed teaching part time at St. Dominic Academy in Auburn.

She received her bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Southern Maine in Gorham and went on to earn a master’s degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.

The artwork on display may be purchased through the WHA Gift Shop, located adjacent to the Main Lobby at CMMC. A percentage of sale proceeds benefit CMMC.
