RUMFORD — Rumford Group Homes, Inc. is accepting applications for the annual $500 Joyce B. Roy Scholarship. Two scholarships are awarded each year to a graduating senior from Mountain Valley High School and Dirigo High School.

Students are invited to apply if they are graduating senior in good standing and attending a post-secondary school in the fall of 2014.

Students who plan to pursue a major at a four-year college in the social service field are eligible. This includes social services, social work, psychology, behavioral health, mental health, special education, social/psychological rehabilitation or a related field.

This scholarship was created in the name of Joyce B. Roy, who was one of the founding board members of Rumford Group Homes, Inc. She was dedicated to the mission of serving children and families to improve their futures.

Applications may be obtained at the high schools guidance counselor’s office. Rumford Group Homes, Inc. has provided these scholarships for the past 10 years to both schools.

Austin Bernard received last year’s scholarship for Dirigo High School and Chelsea DeRoehn received last year’s scholarship for Mountain Valley High School.
