OXFORD HILLS — The Board of Directors at The Progress Center has announced that Jennifer Putnam recently accepted the position of executive director. The Progress Center is a nonprofit agency supporting individuals and families with developmental and intellectual disabilities in 46 communities within Oxford, Androscoggin, Cumberland and Franklin counties.

Ron Raymond, chairman of the board, said Putnam brings many years of successful nonprofit management experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in social work from the University of Maine and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree through St. Joseph’s College. She earned a Certificate in Leadership Studies from the University of Southern Maine and currently serves on the Health InfoNet Advisory Board as well as the SAGE Maine Board of Directors, as treasurer. Past volunteer service includes the Ryan White Advisory Committee, AIDS Drug Assistance Committee and Chair of Maine’s HIV Advisory Committee.

When not at The Progress Center, Putnam enjoys hiking, reading and photography. Currently commuting from Portland, she hopes to make the Oxford Hills her home.
