LEWISTON — Carol S. Yates, 66, died Thursday, April 24, at Central Maine Medical Center. She resided in Rumford and was formerly of Andover.

Born in Sycamore, Ill., on Feb. 19, 1948, she was the daughter of Herbert Gates and Helen Jane (Virtue) Wood. She was a graduate of Sycamore High School in Illinois and worked as a lab technician at Copley Hospital in Aurora, Ill.

She was married in Illinois on July 2, 1970, to Larry Yates, whom survives of Rumford. Other survivors include three daughters, November LeCours and her husband, Larry, of Helena, Mont., Apryl Yates-Richard of Rumford and Lyrra De La Cruz of Virginia; a son, Yrral Yates and his wife, Tanya, of Rumford; a brother, William “Kip” Wood and his wife, Mary “Jay,” of Illinois; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and her daughter, Augusta Yates.
