1964 – 2014

LEWISTON — Carline Maroon, 49, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully Friday morning at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was courageous and brave, and from the beginning, accepted her battle against cancer with dignity and fortitude.

She was born on May 25, 1964, in Van Buren, a daughter of Joseph G. Sanipas Sr. and Rita (Ruest) Sanipas. She grew up in the Waterville area and later attended Lewiston schools. Caline was a housewife and enjoyed her home and loved her cats. She especially enjoyed singing and creating music with her husband, Michael.

On April 18, 1991, she married Michael in Lewiston.

Carline was a member of the Elsipogtog First Nation and the Aroostook Mic Mac Native-Americans.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 23 years; her children, Nichole E. Hobson (Beauchesne) of Greene, Brandon B. Hobson of Lewiston and Christina R. Hobson of Lewiston and her stepdaughter, Amy Maroon. She also leaves behind her mother, Rita; siblings, Norman Sanipas of Greene, Wayne Sanipas and his wife, Bridgett, of Unity, Sandra Labbe and her husband, John, of Turner, and Jeffrey Sanipas of Lewiston; as well as several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father; three brothers, Joseph “George,” Eddie and Robert; and her sister, Carol.

She will be sadly missed by many who knew her kind and loving ways.
