SOUTH PARIS — The Western Maine Economic Development Council is offering a workshop for small businesses that are looking for business resources. The workshop will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at Community Concepts, 17 Market Square.

This is a great opportunity to meet representatives of some of the key agencies and organizations that help small businesses in Oxford County, including Brian Doyle from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Joe Balchunas with Community Concepts Finance Corp., Barry Patrie with Oxford Hills SCORE, Ian Pullen, a commercial loan officer with Norway Savings Bank, Alden Turner with the Small Business Administration, Jane Mickeriz with the Small Business Development Center at AVCOG, Michael Newsom with W.J. Wheeler Insurance Agency and John Williams with the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce.

There will be an opportunity to hear about the services and assistance each of these agencies and organizations can offer and time to speak with them individually. Anyone interested in attending this workshop should contact Mia Purcell at [email protected] or call 739-6543.

This workshop is the last in a free workshop series called Quick Start that was for anyone thinking of starting a new business. The series was generously funded by the Oxford County Fund of the Maine Community Foundation and sponsored by Women Work and Community, Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce, River Valley Chamber of Commerce, Fryeburg Business Association, Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Oxford Hills SCORE and Small Business Development Center at AVCOG.
