Workshop on growing garlic
EAST WILTON — The next free agricultural workshop presented by Wilson Grange 321 will be on how to successfully grow garlic. Frank Maccarrone, a Wilton resident, will lead the workshop.
Maccarrone has won many ribbons for his garlic at the Franklin County Fair over the years.
The workshop will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Grange Hall located in downtown East Wilton. Everyone is invited. Snacks will be served.
Donations for rummage sale
WILTON — Wilton Congregational Church is having its annual spring rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 9, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10.
Those who have items to donate should call the church at 645-2535 between 9 a.m. and noon any Wednesday or Friday before then.
Program of hymns at Farmington church
FARMINGTON — Gospel and timeless hymns will be sung by Austin and Elaine Marden, with Joel and Louise Bunker, at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Fairbanks Union Church, 583 Fairbanks Road.
All donations received will benefit the church.
Conservancy to conduct clean-up
WILTON — The Foothills Land Conservancy will hold its annual public land clean-up day from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 4.
Meet at the parking lot on Pond Road to help pick up roadside trash and clear debris from the fields and trail.
Dress appropriately, including waterproof footwear, gloves and bug spray.
