MEXICO — Five residents filed nomination papers Friday, April 25, for two seats on the Board of Selectmen, Town Clerk and Treasurer Penny Duguay said.

Selectman Peter Merrill is seeking re-election.

Albert Aniel, Richard Briggs, Andrew Dupuis and Jack Gaudet seeking a seat on the Board of Selectmen, she said. That position is held by Selectman George Byam, who is not seeking another term.

During the April 22 selectmen meeting, Byam said he “felt like it was about time to move on. I’ll still be around to provide support though.”

Both seats are for three years.

Duguay said she is the only one running for a three-year term as town clerk and treasurer.
