POLAND — Police said two people were injured and two vehicles demolished in a collision Monday night at Route 11 and North Raymond Road.
According to Androscoggin County Deputy Dennis Sampson, Trevor Michaud, 20, of Poland was traveling west on Route 11 in his 2001 Jeep and attempted to make a left turn onto North Raymond Road. Daniel Burnell, 32, of Casco was traveling east on Route 11 in his 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser when the two vehicles collided, Sampson said.
The impact rolled Michaud’s Jeep onto the driver’s side, but he was able to get out on his own. His passenger, Dana Frazier, 51, of Poland had to be extricated, Sampson said.
Frazier was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with possible broken bones and internal injuries, the deputy said.
Burnell was also taken to CMMC for a possible broken wrist and bumps and bruises, he said.
Michaud complained of pain but refused transport, the investigator said.
He was given a ticket for operating after license suspension, Sampson said.
A dog in Michaud’s Jeep was not hurt.
Sampson said seat belts and air bags were major factors in preventing further injuries.
