Twelve students from RSU 16 schools participated recently in the annual Tri-Town Optimist Club’s Oratorical Contest at Minot Consolidated School. The sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students delivered four-minute speeches on the topic, “How My Passions Impact the World.” First place was awarded to Hannah Mickool, left; second, Madeleine Tiner, right; and third, Neveah Longchamps, center. Other participants were Sophia Nottingham, Twilight Smart-Benson, Halie Barnaby, Olivia Bell, Adanica Keene, Brihanna Swift, Hannah Sawyer, Hailey Johnson and Bartholomew Kimball.
