LEWISTON — Elected officials from the Twin Cities will take the stage Wednesday night at a town hall meeting at the Lewiston Public Library.

The meeting is being hosted by YPLAA, the Young Professionals of the Lewiston-Auburn Area.

“More or less, it’s an informal kind of conversation,” said organizer Chantel Pettengill. “People can be kind of nervous sometimes about going to meetings in City Hall. So this is a chance to discuss questions and concerns young professionals in the area might have.”

Pettengill said Auburn Mayor Jonathan LaBonte and Lewiston Mayor Robert Macdonald have agreed to attend. They’ll be joined by members of their city councils. Pettengill said Lewiston Councilors Leslie Dubois, Nathan Libby, Kristen Cloutier and Mark Cayer are expected to attend.

Auburn Councilors Tizz Crowley, Mary LaFontaine, Adam Lee and Belinda Gerry are expected to attend at least part of the meeting.

Pettengill said the elected officials will be at the front of the room, and will take audience questions and listen to feedback.

“It’s important for officials to hear our voices,” Pettengill said. “And we get to get answers from the officials about what’s going on and what projects they are working on.”
