BRIDGTON — The Sigma Chapter of Alpha Psi, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is sponsoring a special program of interest to active or retired Maine teachers.
It’s targeted for those who have concerns about their future or current retirement benefits and health insurance; returning to the teaching work force after retirement; and/or state proposed teacher evaluation programs.
Crystal Ward will present the program from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Stevens Brook Elementary School in Bridgton.
She is legislative chairwoman of MEA Retired Teachers, and US Forum liaison and chairwoman of the Women’s Legislative Council of Alpha Psi, the Maine affiliate of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
Some significant changes occurred during the 125th Maine legislative session that affected every teacher employed in Maine’s public schools. Ward will outline or review the status of programs and initiatives, from capping cost-of-living adjustments, to raising the retirement age and reducing benefits.
There is no fee for this program and all are welcome; however, preregistration is recommended by emailing: [email protected] with attendance numbers.
