The Auburn auto fire truck after making a run to East Auburn in a little less than eight minutes Thursday evening got stuck in the soft ground in a field back of Breezy Point on the shore of East Auburn where the cottage of H.H. Houghton of 62 Winter street, Auburn, was afire. The firemen did not wait to extricate the truck but took the hand chemicals and ran to the scene of the conflagration. It was too late to save the cottage, and it was soon burned to the ground. No other cottages were damaged. It required some time to extricate the truck by means of planks.
