1923 – 2014

LEWISTON — Romeo O. Toussaint, 91, of Webster Street, died Tuesday at Central Maine Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Auburn on Jan. 3, 1923, a son of the late Ernest and Lydia Labbay Toussaint, and was educated at St. Mary’s Parochial School. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was married to the former Jeannine Langlois, who died April 15, 2009.

Mr. Toussaint was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul where he served as Eucharistic Minister and was also a member of La Ligue du St. Nom de Jesus. He worked as a maintenance mechanic at Gates Form Fiber prior to his retirement in 1985.

He enjoyed being with his family, playing cards, bowling, horseshoes and dedicating his life to serve his church, Ss. Peter & Paul.

Our dad will be remembered for his warm smile and sense of humor, always willing to help those in need, and dedication to his family.
