LEWISTON — Franco American War Veterans Post 31 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the Lewiston Armory, Seniors Room, 65 Central Ave.

LEWISTON — The standings for the Lewiston Senior Citizens Pinochle League are: games, Norm Bissonnette 115, Dick Brackett 106, Ray Mathieu 105, Doris Cormier 101, Cecile Letourneau 101; washes, Norm Bissonnette 11, Cecile Letourneau 9, Ray Mathieu 7, Gieselle Perreault 5. Play will continue at 1 p.m. every Thursday.
Seniors age 50 and over must become members of Lewiston Seniors to take part in any activity at the center, 65 Central Ave.
Cribbage will continue at 9 a.m. every Thursday during the summer. New players are always welcome.

Chest Pain: Treatment and Care
LEWISTON — The right decisions can save a life in an emergency. Learn more about chest pain symptoms, what happens after dialing 9-1-1, heart attack vs. chest pain, ER chest pain treatment and cardiac rehab information at a 5:30 p.m. program Wednesday, May 14, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave.
Plus, tour the Emergency Department, learn the basics of CPR and exercises for heart health, watch demonstrations of a personal emergency response device and an automatic external defibrillator.
The presenters will be Chris Bowe, MD, medical director of St. Mary’s Emergency Department, an accredited chest pain center, and Daphne Russell, AS, EMT-P, CP, prevention and wellness coordinator with United Ambulance.

SeniorsPlus celebrates older Americans
LEWISTON – SeniorsPlus and Dunkin Donuts are celebrating older Americans on a day of education, fun and prizes at the Education Center on Tuesday, May 13.
“Older Americans Month is an opportunity for communities to thank older Americans, to recognize them and a time for those who are older Americans to celebrate,” said Connie Jones, director of community services, at SeniorsPlus.
“This year, Dunkin Donuts approached us and asked to join the celebration. So we have planned a day of education, fun, food, prizes and music.” Events include three special classes: Gentle Morning Yoga by Inner Light Yoga of Maine, Everyday Practical Nutrition by Central Maine Healthcare, and Aging Courageously and Outrageously by SeniorsPlus.
There will be food, prizes, music and and information booths.
