Genetically modified organisms are a growing problem in the United States, especially with corn.

Monsanto is one of the biggest GMO producers in the U.S. Considering how large Monsanto has grown, I fear it cannot be stopped, and there is the Monsanto Protection Act, sighed by President Obama.

Most of the basic food products in the U.S. are treated with GMOs, including tomatoes, corn, sugar and corn oil.

High fructose corn syrup is a very addictive agent that uses corn and other chemicals. Most processed foods that say they have no sugar have high fructose corn syrup, which has sweetener infused in it, according to www.digitaljournal.com

Most people don’t know how GMOs affect people’s health and well-being. GMO food doesn’t come just in plant form; some farmers put growth hormones into livestock — chickens, cows and pigs.

Some people say that GMOs are a good thing and that they are better for food production. For example, GMOs can be used to fight disease from rotting fruit. But it’s not worth it to have so many chemicals put into our bodies.

According to pbs.org, on average, today’s babies are born with 200-plus unnatural chemicals in their blood.

Isn’t that something people should take notice of?
