FRYEBURG — June marks the first anniversary of Hardy Farm, a new wedding and event venue serving the Northeast.
Owners Deborah and Greg Link retired to Maine in 2012 from Long Valley, N.J., after a successful career and raising a family there.
The Links purchased the property in 2002 and operated it for more than 10 years as as Peace With-Inn, a bed and breakfast. In early 2013, in anticipation of pursuing the wedding business, the Links set about restoring the barn as an event space and further updated the farmhouse, transitioning the property to a more contemporary look and feel while retaining much of its unmistakable rustic elegance. It was then branded as Hardy Farm — the original name given by its pre-colonial owners.
Within the first six weeks of opening, the Links scheduled 20 weddings and by the end of 2013, their calendar for 2014 weddings was full with 38 weddings scheduled.
