Does anyone drive the speed limit? It does prove to be quite an effort, given that so few do it. Those who do are referred to as slow pokes.

I have come to the conclusion that speedometers don’t work any more, are broken, or are forgotten when a vehicle is built. Many drivers never bother to look at them because their speed is the only speed that counts. Speed limit signs are obviously a waste of money, aren’t they?

And what is it with the constant zig-zagging and passing vehicles left and right, attempting to get to a destination faster than everyone else? I often wonder if people who pass vehicles left and right ever come to the realization that they just might be speeding, and that they really don’t get there sooner?

Have most people forgotten what a double yellow center line means? How about a solid white line anywhere? What is a stop line all about? And stop signs and traffic lights — especially that red one? I think some people see those as inconveniences — designed to get in the way of getting where they want to go, or at the very least, to increase their estimated time of arrival.

It is a wonder that, in spite of all that, people manage to reach their destinations in one piece.

I do believe that it has gotten scarier over the years.
