AUGUSTA — The deadline is quickly approaching for companies interested in competing for the title of “Best Places to work in Maine.”

Any company with at least 15 employees in Maine can register by Friday.

All businesses will then be reviewed on things like the company’s employee benefits and policies. The award that recognizes companies with the best work environments will be announced in October.

Last year, Pittsfield-based Cianbro was ranked No. 1 in the large company category. Putney Inc. animal drug firm took the top spot in the small/medium company field, followed by the Lewiston health insurance co-op Maine Community Health Options.
