The Veterans Administration hospital at Togus and the VA office in Rumford have my highest regard. They never postponed an appointment for my husband, a World War II veteran. They showed compassion, real interest and regard for his health and well-being. He spent his last days in the hospice care unit and there are not enough superlatives to describe the care he received.
It is sad the national VA is in such bad shape and the veterans are not getting the care they were promised. No one should lump “our” VA with the problem. Our Maine veterans are fortunate to have Togus.
I thank them most sincerely from the bottom of my heart for being there when we needed them.
