The Golf Ball Drop at Relay For Life is the last event of the day. Tickets are sold in advance  for $5 each and the balls are numbered by the Relay committee during the night.

Bancroft generously donates the use of a boom truck equipped with a cement bucket. Ray Broomhall dumps the balls into the bucket and it is then lifted to the top of the boom — a quick pull rapidly releases and drops the golf balls.

The first ball to roll into the regulation golf cup is the winning number. If the winning ticket holder is at the field, he or she wins $1000, but if not present, wins $500.

In addition to Bancroft, other sponsors that donate to the

include Biddeford Saco Country Club which supplys the golf balls, and Oakdale Country Club which donated the golf cup.

Tickets are available from any team member, at Davis Florist, or at the Rumford Falls Times office.
