- A Maine Department of Transportation crew cleans salt and sand off concrete and metal posts on Portland Street and Memorial Bridge over the Androscoggin River in Rumford on Wednesday morning. “It’s the best money we can spend on bridges,” Norman Haggan, regional MDOT manager for Androscoggin, Oxford, Franklin, Somerset and Piscataquis counties, said. “It’s kind of like washing your car after a storm.”
