WHITEFIELD — A helicopter has crashed in the woods of Whitefield and the single person on board was uninjured.
Andrew Berry, a retired employee of Maine Helicopters, said one of the company’s helicopters crashed after 2 p.m. Friday when it was returning from Bangor.
Berry says the pilot is an employee of the business and escaped without injuries. He says the crash occurred about a mile away from the shop.
Maine Helicopters is a commercial helicopter operator. Berry was answering phones there on Friday when other employees went to the scene of the crash.
