AUBURN — Graveside committal prayers honoring the life of Sydney Rowe were held Friday, May 23, at North Auburn Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard Cullen presiding.
During the service, Sydney’s great-granddaughter, Emily, played “Amazing Grace” on her saxophone; his daughter, Lynda Janelle, shared words of remembrance, as well as his granddaughter, Jennifer Warren, and great-granddaughter, Meagan, who recited three poems as a tribute to her great-grandfather.
Before the conclusion of services, the U.S. Navy Honor Detail played taps and presented our country’s flag to Sydney’s son, Anthony, in recognition of his father’s military service to his country during World War II.
At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Rowe family home in North Auburn. Arrangements were by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
