WEST PARIS — June worship services will conclude services until September at the First Universalist Church of West Paris. All are welcome to attend the 9 a.m. service followed by a coffee hour.

The Sumner First Universalist Church, 1148 Main St., West Sumner, will offer worship services at 11 a.m. during July and August.

“Blessing the Animals” on Sunday, June 1, will be led by the church’s worship service committee. The service is a way to express appreciation of domesticated and wild animals. People attending are encouraged to bring their pet or a photograph of a pet or wild animal that has particular meaning.

The service topic on Sunday, June 8, will be “Mary Magdala,” led by the Rev. Fayre. The sermon will explore Mary Magdalene’s Gnostic roots and how her depiction has influenced how women have been regarded historically.

On Sunday, June 15, First Universalist Church members will attend worship services at the Mission Congregational Church, West Paris, as has become an annual practice.

On Sunday, June 22, “Flower Communion” will be led by the Rev. Fayre Stephenson. Those attending are invited to bring flowers from the garden.
