LEWISTON – The first artwalk of the season will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m., on Friday, May 30.  This summer, L/A Arts is pleased to be partnering with more local downtown businesses, including the addition of Argo Marketing and Androscoggin Bank.  More than, 20 greater Lisbon Street organizations and storefronts will be opening their doors and offering visual art galleries, live performances, and special exhibits to patrons. L/A Arts  will be curating 20 of the  venues, including transforming multiple empty storefronts into arts venues.

This year, L/A Arts is  offering a new online artist catalog of artwork for the public to view on the artwalk website (artwalklewistonauburn.com). All participating artists’ work, and the venues they will be displayed in, will be presented to give patrons an opportunity to browse, enjoy, and even purchase artwork before and after the event.

For the first performance of the year, well-known Portland area rock band The Grumps will perform two sets at Dufresne Plaza, from 5 to 6 p.m., and from 7 to 8 p.m.

At 8 p.m., Dreamt, the song-writing project of Aidan Boardman, a Maine native living in Ithaca, N.Y, will peform at She Doesn’t Like Guthries. The project is a collaboration between Boardman and many other talented musicians from New England and upstate New York. The band includes Aidan Boardman (acoustic guitar, banjo, vocals), Jimmy Rose (trumpet), Damien Scalise (electric guitar, vocals), Sam Shuhan (double bass, vocals), and Will Sigel (percussion)
