CASCO — The Raymond-Casco Historical Society will present “Homemade Rug Making and Crocheting” with Anita Holmquist at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 9, at the Raymond-Casco Historical Museum, Route 302.

The program is expected to be insightful and informative to rug making beginners and enthusiasts alike. Holmquist will display and demonstrate how to make Oriental “punched” rugs, braided rugs and hooked rugs.

In addition, she will demonstrate how to crochet hats and baskets by recycling used plastic grocery bags. It is an opportunity to see traditional rug making as well as applying the traditional technique of crocheting to new and environmentally friendly ideas.
