1929 – 2014

LADSON, S.C. — Lorraine Bergeron Gonnella, 84, of Ladson, S.C., was welcomed into Heaven on Friday, May 30. Jesus told us the greatest commandment is love; Lorraine lived this out every day as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to all.

She was born on July 19, 1929, in Jay, to the late Edward and Marie Anne Bergeron.

She is survived by two sisters, Gertrude Ohare and Rita Bergeron, both of Ladson, S.C.; her former husband, Robert Gonnella, of Kittery, and their children, Robert Gonnella (Barbara) of West Yarmouth, Mass., Elaine Williams (Joel) of Billerica, Mass., William Gonnella (Teresa) of Billerica, Mass., Edward Gonnella (Donna) of Old Town, Thomas Gonnella (Judy) of Gettysburg, Pa., James Gonnella (Brenda) of North Charleston, S.C., Susan Roberto (Fred) of North Charleston, S.C., David Gonnella (Jennifer) of Portland, Ore., and Steven Gonnella of Wakefield, Mass. Additionally, she is survived by 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
