Voters in Lewiston and Auburn on Tuesday will select members for a commission to create a joint charter that could lead to consolidation of the two cities. They will elect three charter commissioners from each city.
Auburn voters will also decide on whether to approve the city’s $38.2 million school budget. The voters will cast ballots at their respective ward polling stations. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Lewiston voters will cast their ballots at Longley Elementary School, 145 Birch St. Polls are also open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Unenrolled voters who would like to participate in the party primaries may enroll as either a Democrat or a Republican at the polls Tuesday. Green-Independent Party voters may also receive a primary ballot Tuesday, although there are only write-in slots on the ballot.
