Community Kitchen summer socials

INDUSTRY — Industry Community Kitchen will hold Summer Socials on June 12, July 10, Aug. 14 and Sept. 11, meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Industry Town Hall.

Lunch will be served and there is no charge for the meetings.

Chesterville Grange ‘souper’ supper

CHESTERVILLE — The Chesterville Grange will hold a public “souper” supper on Friday, June 13, serving between 5 and 6:30 p.m.

Free monthly community luncheon

FARMINGTON — The Old South First Congregational Church will serve its free monthly community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at 227 Main St.

The menu will be hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausages with peppers and onions, and dessert bars.

Public supper at Trinity United

FARMINGTON — A public supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Trinity United Methodist Church.

The baked beans and casserole supper includes vegetarian, gluten-free and sugar-free items. The new price is $7 adults, children under 12 $3.50.

Dignified disposal of flags June 14

TURNER — Turner American Legion Post 111 and Turner Boy Scout Troop 187 will conduct a dignified disposal of unserviceable American flags at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14 (Flag Day), at Leavitt Area High School parking lot.

Full military honors will be displayed to include the posting of the flag, a 21-gun salute, the playing of taps and the proper disposal method.

Retired Educators plan meeting

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Retired Educators will hold its final spring meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, in the North Dining Hall at UMF. There will be a salad and sandwich lunch for $10.50. The program will be “Kitty Gee, the Whistler.”

Garden Club resumes meetings

WILTON — Mt. Blue Area Garden Club’s first summer meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 17, in Louise Marcous’ garden, at 295 McCrillis Corner Road. Marcous has a beautiful garden consisting of hundreds of different perennials.

Members and guests are asked to arrive at 5:30 p.m. with a bag lunch, a chair and a plant to add to the swap, which will be held at the end of the meeting.

Hostesses Regina Longyear, Karen Clary and Theda Fairbanks will serve desserts and beverages. MBAGC’s newly elected president Peg Lang will be preside over the meeting.

Donations welcome for yard sale

NEW SHARON — The New Sharon Community Improvement Team is seeking donated items for its second annual yard sale.

The sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, at the New Sharon town office. Proceeds from the sale will be used to subsidize CIT projects, which include a benefit community vegetable garden, two town flower beds, posting of American flags within the village, a scarecrow reunion in the fall and lighting of the town Christmas tree. Last December, the group also assisted a needy family at Christmas with food and gifts.
