NEW SHARON — A story hour with crafts and a snack will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. every other Thursday from June 12 to Aug. 21 at the Jim Ditzler Memorial Library, 37 Library Road.
Other programs being offered from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays are: June 24, Rocks Rock by the L. C. Bates Museum; July 1, The Scoop on Goop; July 8, Robots; July 15 Simple Machines.
The Independent Summer Reading Program will open on June 19 and close on Aug. 23.
Children will receive a log book to record the titles of age-appropriate books that they choose to read when they register.
They will receive a bookmark, pencil, book bag and Gifford’s kid cone upon completion of the program.
Teenagers can set a goal of their choosing with the librarian and receive a movie pass when they achieve their goal.
The program is open to ages preschool through young adult.
