Monmouth Academy senior Kyle Fletcher is one of seven finalists for the Dr. John Winkin “Mr. Baseball” Award.

The award is presented annually to the top senior baseball player in the state. The finalists were announced Thursday by the Maine High School Baseball Coaches Association and also include: Valley C Dylan Belanger, Sacopee Valley P/3B Anthony Haskell, Falmouth SS/P Will D’Agostino, Scarborough P/3B Ben Greenburg, Messalonskee OF Devin Warren and Bangor Christian P/2B Cody Collins.

The winner will be announced on June 27 at the annual Maine Senior All-Star Game at Husson University.

Fletcher, a lefthander and four-year starter at Monmouth, is the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year and led the Mustangs to a 13-3 record and the MVC championship. Monmouth is the top seed in the Western C tournament and hosts Sacopee Valley in the regional semifinals on Saturday.
