LEWISTON — The 14th annual Clean Sweep sale at Bates College will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Underhill Arena, 145 Russell St.

As students pack up to leave the college, they donate unwanted possessions such as clothing, electronics, toys, household goods, small furnishings, bikes and books and sporting goods for sale to benefit area nonprofits. Faculty, staff and the college also donate items.

Last year’s Clean Sweep raised nearly $17,000, which was divided among 14 organizations. Volunteers from those organizations help staff the sale.

Nonprofits taking part this year are:

* Catholic Charities of Maine’s Seek Elderly Alone, Renew Courage and Hope Program, Lewiston

* Community Partners Inc., Lewiston
