Isaiah Harris of Lewiston won the 800 meters at the New England Outdoor Track and Field Champsionships on Saturday in Bridgewater, Mass., running the fastest time ever by a Maine athlete at the distance.

Harris, who also broke his Class A state record in the 800 a week ago, finished in a time of 1:51.47.

It is more than one second quicker than the all-class state record previously owned by Mark McCauley of Greely, now at Bates College.

Second-place finisher Sean Munnelly of Campbell (N.H.) was 1.55 seconds back.

Another Lewiston athlete, Osman Doorow, won his heat and finished 11th overall in the 1,600 meters.

Marcques Houston of Monmouth was 14th in the 400.

On the girls’ side, Edward Little and Lewiston finished 18th and 19th, respectively, in the 4×100 relay.

Among individual girls, Heather Kendall of Lewiston was 21st in the 100 and 22nd in the 200. For EL, Anna Beaudet ran 29th in the 100 and Olivia Paione was 21st in the 400.

Winthrop’s Rachel Ingram finished 24th in triple jump.
