FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP — Authorities have resumed searching for a Tennessee hiker missing from the Appalachian Trail in Maine since July 2013.

Maine’s Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife says Maine game wardens, state police, the Maine Association of Search and Rescue and federal border patrol workers resumed the search for 66-year-old Geraldine Largay on Tuesday. Largay disappeared while hiking the Appalachian Trail in Franklin County.

The Brentwood, Tennessee, resident was last seen early on the morning of July 22 at Poplar Ridge Lean-to in Redington Township, about 65 miles northwest of Showhegan.

Authorities say they have not set a date for future searches for Largay. Anyone who may have information about Largay is asked to call the Maine Warden Service at 207-624-7076.
