1935 – 2014
LEWISTON — Donald H. Deschamps, 78, of 17 Cassell St., Lewiston, died on Wednesday, June 18, at his residence, with his family by his side following a short illness.
He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 22, 1935, the son of the late Harvey A. and Cecile (Maheux) Deschamps, and had been a resident of this community for all of his life. He was educated in Auburn schools and attended Edward Little High School.
Donald served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 13, 1958 to Aug. 12, 1960.
He married the former Rita Y. Roy on Oct. 23, 1965; she died on July 4, 2007.
He was employed as a truck driver for C.N. Brown Oil for many years, until his retirement.
Donald enjoyed fishing, and liked to visit and spend time with his family and friends. He was a dedicated husband and father. He was a happy and friendly man who was always in good spirits.
Donald is survived by one son, David Deschamps, of Lewiston; three daughters, Debra Patterson and her husband, Steve, of Camden, S.C., Denise Farago and her husband, Michael, of Hudson, Wis., and Dorene Deschamps of Sabattus; two grandchildren, Kearstyn and Jordan Hunt of Hudson, Wis.; one sister, Lorraine Pulsifer, of Erwin, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
