AUBURN — Martina M. O’Neill, 90, a former resident of Lisbon, died Monday morning, July 7, at Hospice House. Martina resided at Clover Manor Living Center in Auburn for two years.

She was born in Lisbon on Aug. 12, 1923, the daughter of Cyprian J. and Odelie Bernier Roux. Martina graduated from Lisbon High School in 1940, and went on to Mercy Hospital Nursing School to become a registered nurse.

On Nov. 11, 1946, at St Anne’s Church in Lisbon, Martina and Jack O’Neill were married. In 1950, Martina and Jack moved to New Jersey, where she worked at several hospitals; they moved back to Maine in 1971, and from 1971 to 1982, Martina worked at Regional Hospital in Brunswick.

Martina enjoyed reading, going to the ocean, gardening, spending time with family — particularly Hillarie, her granddaughter, enjoying a good root beer float and playing bingo.

She is survived by her son, John O’Neill and his wife, Jan, of Brisbane, Australia; her daughter, Rosemary “Patti” O’Neill, of Revere, Mass.; her daughter, Maureen and her husband, Karl Nuzzo, of Litchfield; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
