DEAR SUN SPOTS: While in Florida this past winter I learned how to play pickleball. I would like to find some people the in Paris-Norway or Lewiston-Auburn area who would like to play on a regular basis.

If interested, please email or call me. — sylton43@yahoo.com, 207-240-5144

ANSWER: For readers who, like Sun Spots, have never heard of pickleball, Wikipedia says pickleball is a “racket sport in which two to four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a polymer perforated ball over a net.

“The sport shares features of other racket sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis with a few modifications. One of the fastest growing sports in North America, pickleball was invented in the mid-1960s as a children’s backyard pastime but quickly became popular among adults as a fun game for players of all skill levels.”

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the June 14 query, I represent Vacationland Tours, and I would appreciate it if you would publish my trips:

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Here is my recipe for rhubarb-pineapple jam. Boil together 5 cups sugar, 5 cups cut-up rhubarb and 1 large can of crushed pineapple.

Remove from heat and add one large package of strawberry Jell-O. Mix well. Put in hot jars and seal. Makes nine half-pint jars.

I am looking for mango Jell-O and cannot find it in this area. Any ideas? Thanks for all the helpful information. — No Name, No Town

ANSWER: Sun Spots used the product locator at kraft.com, which said there was no outlet in Lewiston-Auburn. You can find it if you head a bit south:

* Market Basket, 220 Mariner Way, Biddeford, 207-282-9005

DEAR SUN SPOTS: First, I have to thank you for your wonderful column.

Now, about using pineapple with the rhubarb and strawberry jam, it works just fine because you use canned pineapple. It’s fresh pineapple that has the enzyme that prevents it from jelling.

The recipe that was in the column on June 23 (sunjournal.com/news/sun-spots/2014/06/23/lucky-ladybug-pin-goes-missing/1552324) is the one I’ve used myself for years. Try it; you’ll like it. — Faithful Reader, Rumford
