BREWER — Police say two people from Rumford were killed when they were passengers a car involved in a collision Tuesday.
Police say Joseph Richard of Mexico was traveling west on Route 9 when his vehicle crossed over the line and hit a vehicle. Two passengers in Richard’s vehicle, Joseph Laplante, 85, and Ella Laplante, 86, both of Rumford, died in the crash.
The other car was driven by Robert Collins of Barnstable, Mass. Collins, passenger Judy Collins of Barnstable, Richard, and passenger Marjorie Richard of Mexico were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.
