Programs at Mount Blue State Park
WELD — Two programs will be held at the Mount Blue State Park amphitheater this weekend.
The movie “Hoot” will be shown at 8 p.m. Friday, July 18.
A lecture, “Invasive Insects,” by forest entomologist Colleen Terrling will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 19.
The program will explain how to help prevent the loss of native tree species.

College planning workshop
WILTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop, “Essentials of College Planning,” for adults 19 and over at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at Wilton Career Center, 865 US Route 2 East.
All MEOC services are free.
The starting point for all participants is the Essentials of College Planning, a free interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills.
The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. Pre-registration is required.

Chesterville Grange ‘souper’ supper
CHESTERVILLE — The Chesterville Grange will have a public “souper” supper on Friday, July 25, serving between 5 and 6 p.m.

Lobster suppah at American Legion
FARMINGTON — Farmington American Legion will host a Lobster Suppah from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 25 at Post 28 on the corner of High and Middle streets.

‘Summer Fest’ picnic on the lawn
FARMINGTON — An old-fashioned “Summer Fest” picnic on the lawn will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, 110 Academy St.
The cost is $7. In case of rain, the picnic will be inside.
Benefit supper for Jaye Simoneau
JAY — A benefit spaghetti supper for Jaye Simoneau will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Spruce Mountain High School Cafeteria.
The cost is $5 per person. There will be raffle tickets, silent auction and a calendar raffle.

Leavitt Youth Soccer Camp
TURNER — The popular Leavitt Youth Soccer Camp is back the week of July 28 presented by MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education.
Boys and girls in grades K-6 will learn about soccer in a fun and encouraging way from the Leavitt Area High School girls soccer team.
