AUGUSTA — Mark J. Osgood, 56, of Jay passed Saturday, July 19, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.
He was born Dec. 25, 1957, in Riverdale, Md., the son of David and Marlene Osgood. He attended Farmington Schools, graduating from Mt. Blue High School in 1976. While in school, Mark was on the football team and ski team.
He worked at International Paper Company in Livermore Falls and later became self-employed as a private contractor doing remodeling and caring for apartment buildings. He did this under the business title of Osgood and Daughters. His number one love was his daughter, Mackenzie, as well as his many family members.
Mark was a great lover of the outdoors and head over heels for hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed his time in Alaska fishing with his father.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie of Jay; his father, David M. Osgood of New Portland; his mother, Marlene O’day of Fresco, Texas; his stepmother, Mary-Sue Hayden of Farmington; his sisters, Kristin Drottar of Windham and Melissa Lawson of Fresco, Texas; many nieces, nephews and aunts.
He was predeceased by his brother, Micha Brian Osgood; his fraternal grandparents, Henry and Grace Osgood; his maternal grandparents, William “Izene” and Lena Peeler; and his stepmother, Linda Osgood.
