Given the increasing diversity of America’s population, the dangers of sectarianism have never been greater. Whatever this nation once was, it is no longer just a Christian nation.
It is also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation and a nation of nonbelievers.
What is happening now is not immigration as America once knew it, when men and women made a conscious choice to turn their backs on their native land and crossed the ocean to become Americans.
What is happening now is an invasion — perhaps the greatest invasion in history. Rarely has anything of the current magnitude happened in so short a span of time.
Nearly 90 percent of all immigrants now come from continents and countries whose people have never been assimilated fully into any western country.
