Rumford Library closed today

RUMFORD — The Rumford Public Library will be closed today, Tuesday, July 22, for system repairs.

The library will be open on Wednesday, July 23, for its regular hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations for Carthage sale

CARTHAGE — The Carthage Historical Society will hold a bake sale and lawn sale from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the Carthage Historical Society Museum.

Anyone wishing to donate items or food to the sale can reach Nancy at 562-7762 or Fay at 562-7337.

A 3-by-5 braided rug made by Fay Hutchinson will be raffled. Tickets may be purchased by calling Nancy or Fay. The rug will be on display at Bradbury’s Market on July 26 and 27; tickets will be available then. They also will be available on Aug. 1.

Mexico High School Class of 1949

MEXICO — Mexico High School Class of 1949 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Dick’s Restaurant.

Spouses and friends are welcome.

Earth Jams at Mexico Library

MEXICO — As part of the Mexico Public Library’s “Terrific Tuesdays” summer programs for kids ages 2-14, the library will host an interactive musical program, Earth Jams! With Matt Loosigian, at 10 a.m.Tuesday, July 29, at the Calvin Lyons Hall, next door to the library.

Matt is a dynamic, spirited performer. He travels throughout New England singing at festivals, fairs, schools, libraries and churches. His performances weave peace and compassion with humor and silliness.
